Diverse Leaders in Tech Manifesto

The 30th of March was a monumental day for intersectional leaders in the Netherlands. More than 150 tech leaders came together to formulate 10 ambitions to tackle pressing DEI challenges facing our industry today. There are lots of learnings from the outcomes of this collaboration, which will serve as the starting point to continue the mission of Diverse Leaders in Tech.

The addressed challenges :

  • Getting women to work in tech, let's flip the script - with Sahar Yadegan
  • Increasing Cultural Diversity, it starts at the top - with Sergio Panday
  • The power of Neurodiversity, including all mindsets - with Georgia Kyriakopoulos and Arnout Nederpelt
  • LGBTQ+, Out & Proud, bringing your whole self to work - with Danielle Jiskoot
  • Data Driven DEI, a smart strategy for better business - with Betsy Bagley
  • International Tech Talent, the challenge of Dutch culture - with Marieke van Iperen
  • Closing the Funding Gap, for the fast and furious  - with Claire Tange
  • Equity & Belonging, the end of discrimination in the workplace - with Rahel de Vriend
  • DEI & Allyship, we are all in this together - with Robert Baker
  • Artificial Intelligence & Inclusive Design, overcoming the danger of bias - with Alix Rubsaam

Tech should be richer.
There, we said it.
But not in dollars, euros or yuans.
Forget you ever heard the word valuation.
Tech should be richer in diverse leaders.
Because a diversity of people, backgrounds and experiences drive innovation.
It seems obvious but we have to stand for it.
No one gets into tech because they believe in the status quo.
We’re here to make a difference.
And to create connections. Real ones.
That’s the magic of Diverse Leaders in Tech.
To make sure our industry is never seen as exclusive.
To raise the profiles of those who have something unique to bring.
To build the tools to boost ourselves and others.
If you feel you’re such a leader, get in touch.
If you know such a leader, send them our way.
At the helm of a 50 people scale-up.
Or heading a department in a 5000 employees giant.
It doesn’t matter. All diverse leaders are welcome.
Let’s make tech rich by being exceptional, together.
